Plans & Preparedness

If you experience a water emergency (such as a burst pipe or major leak), please follow these steps:
1. Shut off your building's internal main water valve immediately, if it is accesible. This is usually located where the water line enters the building (often in the mechanical room, basement, or untility area).
2. If the leak cannot be controlled or you cannot locate the internal shutoff valve, The District may need to shut off water at the curb stop.
3. During business hours, call the Copper Metro District office: 970-968-2537
4. After hours or on weekends, call Copper Security: 970-390-6888
Please note: Only District personnel are authorzied to operate curb stop valves. Do not attempt to open or close a curb stop yourself.
Providing the building address and brief description of the issue will help staff respond as quickly as possible.
